Investment in Florida

The US has one of the  best regulated  real estate markets  in the world. All estate agents must be licensed and property ownership is  normally backed  by title insurance, making it one of the safest places to buy property. With exchange rates close to $2 to £ 1, Florida currently offers an exceptional investment opportunity for the foreign buyer.

Getting Around in Florida

Make no mistake, Florida is a big place and the fourth largest state in the U.S.A. You are almost certainly going to need a car, but the road network is superb, with major highways connecting all the communities and attractions in this website. As an added bonus, nearly all car rental cars are automatic and air conditioned making driving in Florida even more of a pleasure. The pace is gentle compared to Europe and the drivers are, on the whole, courteous.

We have contacts with major rental companies including specialists in 7 -12 seaters and larger vehicles. Your choice in rental company will not only depend on party size, but on the most convenient pick-up at your arrival airport.

Climate

Blessed with a climate that is the envy of the world, now is always a good time to visit Florida. Average day time high temperatures vary from around 70° F (21° ) in Winter to a tropical 90° F (32° C) in Summer, when the majority of rain falls in the form of thundery afternoon showers. With average sunshine hours ranging from 6 to 9 hours per day according to season, the title of The Sunshine State is well deserved.

A Place for All Seasons

Your choice of holiday time may be restricted by personal circumstances, but it is worth bearing in mind that high season varies considerably from place to place. In general, Orlando and central Florida are busiest and so most expensive at school holiday times. The coastal resorts, by contrast, generally regard December to April as high season. This is largely influenced by the migration of North Americans, seeking sunnier climates in Winter the so called snowbird season. Plan a visit to Sarasota or Bradenton between May and mid December and you will be paying less than half the high season rate!

Dining Out

Dining out in Florida is a way of life. The choice of restaurants is vast, from the ultra casual and unbelievably cheap American buffet restaurants to an array of top class restaurants, to satisfy the most discerning of palates. Whether you hunger for a juicy steak, succulent seafood or something more exotic you will not have to travel far. Please remember that tipping is a way of life too, with good service being rewarded with a 15% tip.

Passports & Visas

With no language barrier and no vaccination requirements, getting to and around Florida is generally straight forward. However British visitors will need a full passport valid for at least 180 days on the day of departure to participate in the visa waiver programme. This replaces the need for a visa if your trip is for less than 90 days. You will be required to complete a form for both immigration and customs usually issued on the outbound flight. If you are in any doubt as to your eligibility to enter the USA, we strongly recommend that you check with the U.S Embassy in London prior to your booking.

Villa Rentals

One of the main reasons for investment in Florida is  to gain  rental income. It provides the ideal way for you to invest your money abroad, but to retain an annual family holiday home and to take in a monthly income from monthly and/or yearly rentals.
